What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality, or commonly known as VR, is a computer-generated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world. The scenes and objects that appear in it may feel real, making the user feel they are immersed in their surroundings. There are other technologies, besides VR, that use the same style like Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and Extended Reality etc.
Types of virtual reality:
In this, the user feels as if they are completely a part of the alternate reality. The computer responds to all the external movements of the user. It gives out audio visual output based on that.
In this, there is an alternate reality but the user is conscious that they are in an alternate reality. They do not get into that world completely. For example, while playing simulated games at home, children are aware that they are playing and that it is not a part of reality.
Games like PUBG work on the principle of collaborative Virtual reality where the computer or any other VR device responds to the external cues given by the user and but, the user doesn’t get completely immersed in it. Instead, they share a virtual reality with other users or computer generated users.
This is where people have access to reality through live information sharing, publishing and things similar to that. This is the fastest growing branch of virtual reality.
